Sharing highly valued information on dive safety, the International Conference on Underwater Education (ICUE/IQ) will be held alongside the Scuba the Scuba Show in Long Beach, California, June 22 to 23; specifically, in Room Seaside 7 of the Long Beach Convention and Entertainment Center.
As in previous years, the event will host several special events, and engaging and informative seminars scheduled throughout the weekend. The two-day seminar series includes luminaries in the scuba diving world; and while the program is centered on dive safety, a wide range of subjects from dive travel to training will be covered.
Launched in 1969 by NAUI, the conference’s primary purpose is to create a forum for dive professionals and experts to present the latest advances in dive education, safety, medicine, equipment, and more, thereby creating a platform for discussion among industry stakeholders. The ICUE is open to anyone with an interest in diver education, regardless of their certification level or affiliation. Seminars will vary in complexity, from highly technical to general information useful to all divers.
In addition to this unique selection of conference speakers and promotions, NAUI is hosting a dinner reception beginning at 6 p.m. on Friday, June 22 at Nelson’s Restaurant, overlooking the Pacific coast in Rancho Palos Verdes, with special guests Zale Parry and Lucinda Bridges, daughter of Lloyd Bridges, who will share stories celebrating the 60thanniversary of Sea Hunt.
Entry into ICUE seminars in included with the purchase of a Scuba Show Seminar Pass. Passholders can also enter silent auctions and door prize draws for items and services donated by Scandi Divers, Henderson Divewear, and Atlantis Dive Resorts & Liveaboard: including Pro Shorty wetsuits and Philippines dive vacations.
